Kruger National Park

Days One to Three

You will spend the first three days of your “Heartbeat of the African Bush” Safari immersed in the iconic landscapes of Kruger National Park. As South Africa’s largest national park, spanning 19, 485 square kilometres, Kruger is world-renowned for its remarkable biodiversity. It is home to the legendary Big Five - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and Cape buffalo - as well as more than 500 recorded bird species.

During your stay, you will experience the magic of the bushveld from carefully selected luxury lodges, enchanting treehouses, and elegant glamping safari tents. Days are filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters, while evenings bring the sounds of Africa under vast starlit skies - moments that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Before the sun ignites the sky, the bushveld breathes in gold and flame. Elephants drift through ancient dust, lions call the land by name. Leopard slips through dappled light, river and sky in silence merge - Kruger beats, both wild and still, a timeless, living surge.

Treehouses & Cheetahs

Day Two

After breakfast, we embark on a self-drive adventure through Kruger National Park, stopping along the way for refreshments at some of the local camps, soaking in the sights and sounds of the bush. We will venture deeper into the wilderness toward our overnight hideaway.

As the golden light begins to soften and the wilderness surrounds us, this is where your adventure truly deepens. Tonight, you will sleep high above the ground in a secluded treehouse, overlooking the untamed landscape below. Suspended between earth and sky, with nothing but the sounds of nature around you, you’ll experience the bush in its most raw and intimate form.

This exclusive sleep-out is reserved for our group alone, guided by our world class safari-guide and professional cook. Under the canopy of the stars, you will gather around the fire as the cook prepares a hearty meal over open flames, while the nocturnal chorus of the bush - distant calls of wildlife, rustling leaves, and the crackle of the fire - sets the scene for an unforgettable night in the heart of Southern Africa.

Suspended between earth and sky…

Big Tuskers & Sunsets

Day Three

After a night under the stars, we head north, venturing deeper into the park. We pause for breakfast before continuing to our camp for the night. Along the way, we visit the Elephant Museum at Letaba Rest Camp, which showcases some of the park’s legendary big tuskers from years past. As the sun sets, we enjoy drinks and dinner, then retire to our safari tents for an evening around the fire, immersed in the sounds and atmosphere of the African bush.

Private Reserve

Day Four

After breakfast, we depart Kruger and journey to a nearby private reserve, where our home for the next three nights will be a seasonal tented camp. Meals are prepared over open flames by the camp cook, offering a true taste of bush living.

When you have acquired a taste for the dust, and the scent of our first rain, you’re hooked for life on Africa, and you’ll not be right again… you’ll always hunger for the bush; for the lion’s rasping roar, to camp at last beneath the stars and be at peace once more.

Project Heartbeat.

Located just outside the Kruger in a Private Game Reserve, this small community clinic provides essential, basic healthcare to surrounding rural villages. Services include maternal care, simple wound treatment, primary eye care, and general health support. Though humble in size and resources, the clinic plays a vital role in offering accessible, everyday medical care to families who would otherwise travel long distances for help.

Mornings are dedicated to visiting the local community clinic, where we contribute to small medical projects, supporting the surrounding communities. Afternoons are spent tracking wildlife, either on foot or in an open safari vehicle, immersing ourselves in the sights, sounds, and rhythms of the African bush.

Days Five and Six

Hoedspruit and Horn.

Day Seven

After a last visit to the clinic and breakfast, we head south towards the frontier town of Hoedspruit, in preparation of our rhino conservation project. Guests will have time to relax at the lodge or head into town for curio shopping. In the evening, we enjoy a South African braai (BBQ) dinner, giving us the opportunity to discuss the rhino project planned for the following morning.

Swim. Sizzle. Sundown.

Project Dehorn.

Rhino conservation has been in the spotlight for the past fifteen years. Partnering with Nkombe Rhino, we offer an exclusive, hands-on project reserved for only a handful of safari guests, giving you a unique insight into the frontline of conservation and the dedication required to protect iconic African species.

Rhino protection involves a wide range of measures, from Anti-Poaching Units, aerial surveillance, detection and tracking dogs, and intelligence gathering, to tourism initiatives and dehorning, to name just a few. Over the last ten years, dehorning has played a key role as a deterrent to poachers, reducing the incentive to target rhinos in reserves that implement this strategy.

Project Dehorn.

Day Eight

We rise early to meet with the conservation team in the bush for a hands-on rhino horn trimming experience.

Horn pared back, a silent stand, To guard a life upon this land. Not harm, but hope in careful hands - So rhinos roam in wild, wide sands.

Day Eight Afternoon

After returning to the lodge in time for lunch and a shower, we check out and connect to our flight to Johannesburg.

Day Nine Morning

After a relaxing night in Johannesburg, close to the airport, we will depart for Botswana. We collect out fully equipped 4x4 vehicles and begin our journey towards the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, ready to explore one of Africa’s most unique landscapes.
